Adult Education

Weekly Adult Meeting

Every Sunday after the Divine Liturgy, while the children are in Sunday School, we offer an adult meeting in the church sanctuary. This meeting consists of talks by various presenters on a variety of spiritual topics - bible passages, saints' lives, church feasts, spiritual growth, etc… All adults are encouraged to attend, so as to strengthen their faith and knowledge of the Holy Church. The health of the Orthodox Christian community as well as the spiritual health of the individual member of the Holy Church depends on a constant renewal, understanding, and engagement with the faith. Adult education is one way to live the faith, and it is especially important for those with children who must strive to turn their homes into extensions of the church.

Women's Book Study

Several times per year, women of the congregation and beyond are warmly invited to participate in a ~6-week discussion of a particular spiritual book or Bible section. Led by Father Kyrillos [link to his page], meetings occur at St. Paul's once/week on Monday evenings from 7PM to 9PM. A light dinner is provided by a rotation of volunteers. Books are provided and a donation in any amount to cover the cost is thankfully accepted. Previous books studied include: Interior Freedom, by Fr. Jacques Philippe, Walking with God:  A Journey Through the Bible, by Tim Gray and Jeff Cavins, Searching for and Maintaining Peace, by Fr. Jacques Philippe, The Book of Ephesians (One of the letters of St. Paul, New Testament, Holy Bible), I Believe in Love:  A Personal Retreat Based on the Teaching of St. Thérése of Lisieux, by Fr. Jean C. J. D'Elbée, and God's Path to Sanity by Dee Pennock.
